Bobcat Singers, the Advanced Choir at Bernardo Heights Middle School is open to mostly 8th grade students by audition only. Singers will continue to develop their vocal technique, music theory, and musicianship as they prepare to perform more advanced music. Bobcat Singers will have several performance opportunities throughout the year at festivals, concerts, and community or school events. Students in Advanced Choir commit to participate for the entire year.
Concert Choir is a semester-long class open to 7th and 8th grade students. Singers will work to perform intermediate-level music at a high standard of performance. They will continue to develop their vocal technique, music theory, and musicianship. In addition to performing at several concerts per year, Concert Choir will also travel to represent BHMS at a choral festival at an amusement park.
6th Grade Choir
The 6th Grade Choir is a one-year class that is open to any interested student, and no prior experience is necessary. Singers will learn proper vocal technique, music theory, musicianship, and study a variety of music. The curriculum is based on both state and national standards for music. Students will participate in 1-2 concerts per semester as well as a festival in the spring.
